Obviously, my plans of updating during pregnancy were a bust. I completely forgot about this until I saw it bookmarked under "Blogs."
Liliana was born on July 6, 2008, eight days after her due date. No epidural, no c-section, but I did partake in a drug called Nubain, which proved to be hallucinogenic and quite horrible, to be honest with you. I regret that decision, but it was one made in the midst of the worst pain I have ever felt, so I am inclined to forgive myself. Live and learn, I say, and I will definitely never say, "YES!" with such zeal again without first researching the consequences.
Our baby girl is now six months old and growing fast. Just the other night, she pulled herself to standing on her bouncy chair, much to my dismay and excitement. She can crawl and sit up and roll over, and she does have the most contagious giggle, if I do say so myself. Favorite toys include her wooden monkey on wheels, a cloth stacker that emits delightful noises when the rings are removed, and an exersaucer that enables her to jump to her heart's delight.
Still no hair, much to my surprise, which leads me to the conclusion that she is definitely her daddy's daughter. We expect to see tufts sprouting around age two, if Brian's baby photographs are any indication of what is to come. Her baby blues astound each person she comes in to contact with, which unequivocally shows that she is, in fact, my daughter.
She isn't much of a rolly polly type of girl - she tends to ere on the side of 'peanut,' in the words of some family members. Weighing in at 15 pounds, 5 ounces, she does run a bit small compared to her peers, but she makes up for this in personality. Favorite activities include laughing, gnawing on anything and everything, giving considerable open-mouthed [read: slobbery] kisses, and exploring every nook and cranny.
Favorite foods? Well, she's not really into much besides breast milk at this point, but she does enjoy a decent whole wheat bagel (frozen, to soothe the beast that is teething), organic blueberries with organic brown rice cereal, and an Earth's Best barley teething biscuit now and then.
Every day, we learn something new about her, as well as about ourselves. It's been a wild ride so far, and it's about to get even more crazy now that we have entered the world of mobility.
Until next time..
