January. Six months old. Liliana learned how to pull herself up, and our world completely changed! She starts to eat real food but isn't quite sure what to think of it.
February. Seven months old. First Valentine's Day! The weather is wonky for the entire month, and she goes from being bundled very tightly in a fluffy snowsuit to wearing only a jean jacket in a matter of days.
March. Eight months old. Lili learns how to clap, goes on her first wagon ride, and swings at the park for the fist time. We go to the nature museum with Erica and her daughter Astrid and Michelle and her daughter Maddy.
April. Nine months old. Mommy and Liliana take the train all by themselves to go and visit family. Liliana experiences grass for the first time and is intrigued enough to eat it. We go to the zoo with Caroline and her son Timmy and Randy and his wife and their son Griffin. Liliana has her first Easter, and we spend it with Tara and her son Tallen, as both of our husbands had to work.
May. Ten months old. We spend a lot of time outside. Liliana learns how to take her pants off. She also starts taking steps and gets her first big owie.
June. Eleven months old. Baby is a walking machine. She learns the art of ripping apart books (mommy is not so happy about this).
July. Happy first birthday, baby! We drive to Grandma Kim's house with Erica and her daughter Astrid for a week. Daddy joins us later on with Grandpa Glenn and Nana and cousin Aidan. Lots of birthday cake is eaten, and someone's naked cake covered butt runs through a sprinkler. Liliana and mommy also go to the zoo with Caroline and her son Timmy, and then later on go to the nature museum with Caroline & Timmy and Heather and her son Jack. We also meet Tara and Cazz and their son Tallen at the downtown farmer's market.
August. Thirteen months old. Entrance to toddlerhood! Lots of fun in the sun.
September. Fourteen months old. Liliana and mommy treck downtown to Navy Pier to get together with Erica and her daughter Astrid. We also go to the zoo with Margaret and the boy that she nannies, Miguel. We end the month with a big get-together with a bunch of moms and their babies at the zoo.
October. Fifteen months old. Lots of playing outside before the cold weather came. Liliana's second Halloween.
November. Sixteen months old. Liliana and mommy take the train up to Grandma Kim's house and spend a few days there. Liliana has her second Thanksgiving. We all take the train up to Liliana's godmother's house and spend it there. We find out that Liliana is terrified of santa hats.
December. Seventeen months old. Lili is able to play in the snow for the first time ever. Her second Christmas is spent at her Grandpa Glenn and Nana's house. We spend a week there, and she meets her Uncle Jason and Aunt Barbara and Uncle Ken and Aunt Laura. She sleeps on both flights and has a blast with her new toys.
